The four teen Shadowans hurry through the crowd, Onyx waving to the villagers as they wave to her.
"We'll go to my home," Taman says, "it is the biggest."
The four teens enter inside the mud-and-stone home of Taman's family and find it empty. Clearly, everyone is out socializing as a part of the solstice.
As with any Shadowan home, holes are in the roof to allow some moonlight to enter, helping keep the Shadowans' glowing hair powered up.
"Over here," Taman says, leading them to his bedroom.
"I didn't know you had a television!" Onyx exclaims.
"When everyone took things from the Hunter's stockpiles," Noir explains, "the three of us grabbed up technology like this for use at home. Helps pass time on uneventful days."
Nero helps Taman clean up his bed, straightening the thin sheets on top.
"Here, Lady Onyx," Taman says. "You may sit wherever you wish!"
"Thank you very much!" Onyx says as she sits on the edge near the middle.
Noir finds Taman's remote, and turns on the television.
The channel is set to a news station, ōʅ˦ű (pronounced: Ot-th-looo) Network.
"On Planet Modos, police arrested five criminals associated with the crime organization, 'The Sinful Ones', or TS1, during a large fight that had broken out after sundown. The five have been identified, but none of them were TS1 Leader Y'Tar 'Transgression' Gergerglock, or his counterparts, V'mar and V'bar Gergerglock."
"Change the channel," Nero says. "These news stations are always boring and depressing."
Noir presses a button and turns it to a music video station. The current song is soft and romantic, with a beautiful green-haired girl and handsome green-haired guy kissing on a beach.
As the song ends, one of the Star Dancers leans forward, and his fingers touch Onyx's by chance.
"Oh, sorry," Nero apologizes, withdrawing.
"No, it's okay," Onyx answers. "It's no harm."
Nero relaxes as Taman scoots closer to Onyx. His hand makes its way around behind her.
"Taman!" Noir hisses.
"What?! It's just my hand!"
Onyx blushes as she finds Taman's hand on her hip. Surprisingly, she relaxes, and moves Taman's hand up her side.
