"It was a design created for the use by The Citadel."
Both Blackfire and Starfire gasp.
"What?" Cyborg asks. "Who are The Citadel?"
"They are the group that employed the Gordanians," Starfire replied.
"The Gordanians," Beastboy echoes. "Weren't they the ones who had you as their prisoner when you first came to Earth?"
Starfire nods yes.
"The Citadel and the Gordanians had been enemies of our people for centuries," Blackfire speaks up. "The war wasn't going anywhere, because neither side would give in."
"Right," you say, remembering the few memories you have of your father fighting in that war. "And it was still going when I was exiled by the Elders."
"It ended with our father signing a treaty," Starfire speaks up. "It was an agreement that The Citadel would leave our home in exchange for myself."
"What?!" both Cyborg and Beastboy shout in surprise.
"It was necessary," Starfire insists. "And I broke out easily on my own, remember?"
Starfire smiles meekly, and Cyborg and Beastboy calm down.
You squint your eyes, trying to focus your vision to see for any small signs that would truly tell you if the engine was Kozoal or Citadel.
You roll it over to uncover the bottom. Nothing there but scratches and a scorch mark.
"Looks like we'll need to open it," you say. "The only way to make certain this isn't Citadel technology is to see what was used to make this."
You roll the engine around until you find four giant screws. Cyborg's arm transforms into a screwdriver and pulls them out. The panel pops off, revealing the innards of the engine.
As with a jet engine, there is a turbine and some compressors, with the combustion chambers between them. This set-up has about half a dozen compressors, and the combustion chambers are rather wide.
You try and remember which civilization used an engine with this particular shape.
