Take a Break

You go to get some pizza. It's cold, but you take care of that with your starbolt energy.

*BZZZ* You heat it up, and once again the cheese is hot and gooey.

You take a bite, and the cheese practically burn your tongue!

"AH OW OW!" you say with your tongue out. Apparently, you overdid it with the starbolt energy.

"Finished!" Flashfire and Starfire cheer from inside.

You go inside to see, pizza still in hand and tongue still hanging out.

It is hard to see all the colors without lights, but you can tell all parts of the walls have been covered with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.

"E loos rate!" you say.

"What?" Blackfire giggles as she looks at you.

"Are-ree, eye ung eh urr."

Blackfire and some of the others burst out laughing as you walk over to them.

"Your tongue is burnt," she clarifies. "How?"

You point to the pizza.

"O'er ea'eh eh."

"You over heated it," she translates as she laughs. "I'd get you a drink of water to cool your tongue, but we haven't got the plumbing up and running yet."

"Ass okay," you say, getting more laughs out of everyone. "I'll us ee o'er air."

You point back outside, and walk away.

The sun is just above the horizon now, telling you that it is late in the afternoon.

You tongue has stopped stinging, and the pizza has cooled down. You take another bite, and it no longer burns.

You can here them working on the plumbing, wrenches turning and pipes being moved around.

You sit down on the wooden steps as Blackfire joins you, taking a slice and heating it up.

"I guess you still need to learn how to control yourself," she teases, taking a bite. Her pizza doesn't burn her like yours did.

She sits on your lap sideways, her feet swinging to your right.

"Why aren't you inside helping?" you ask, even though you can guess it is because she's "tired".

"I did!" she defends. "I passed my sister a pipe. I only came out here to take a break."

The two of you take another bite of pizza as you watch the water wash up against the sandy shore.

"Blackfire!" Flashfire calls. "You're supposed to be helping!"

"As soon as I finish my slice," Blackfire replies.

Blackfire slowly takes another bite of pizza.
