Time to Meet the Parents

"So," you say to the Titans, "what things do humans do as a part of marriage ceremonies?"

Robin, Beastboy, Cyborg, and Raven look at each other.

"Well," Robin says, "I guess a lot of it is the same as a Tamaranian wedding: the bride wears a beautiful dress, someone says the special speech, and after the couple says 'I do,' there's a party."

"Complete with a flower bouquet and garter belt toss!" Beastboy adds.

"What's the point of tossing those?" Blackfire asks.

"Superstition dictates that the girl who catches the bride's bouquet, and the guy who catches the bride's garter belt, are destined to be the next to get married," Raven explains. "But not necessarily to each other."

"I don't wear a garter belt," Blackfire says. "But... I guess we could include the bouquet."

*WHOOSH* You hear two people fly down from out of the sky.

*SMASH* They bust through the window!!

"Komand'r!!" a woman shouts, grabbing up Blackfire. She has fading-red hair, but her skin tone and figure are still vibrant and elegant. "You didn't even take the time to tell me you had met a boy! I was so surprised when your sister called me!"

"Indeed," a man says, walking in casually. He, too, has fading hair but a powerful physique. "Fugitive or not, a daughter needs to at least send a message home to her parents when she's given an aach-cha to a male!"

"Hello, Mother and Father," Blackfire greets, showing a little more cheer.

"Mother! Father!" Starfire shouts as she flies, hugging her mother and sister together. "

"Lord Myand'r and Lady Luand'r," you say, "it is an honor to meet you! We were not expecting you so soon!"

You hold out your hand to Blackfire's mother, and suddenly you realize you should have been far more respectful.

"Oh, my apologies," you say, bowing as you bop yourself in the head. "I meant no disrespect."

"HAHAHAH!" Lord Myand'r laughs boomingly. "Rise, young man, rise! We do not need to be treated with such pomp by our future son-in-law!"

Myand'r walks over to you, a broad smile on his face.

*SMACK* His hand gives you a powerful pat on the back as he laughs hardily again.

"Koriand'r," Lady Luand'r says, "is the feast being prepared?"

"Yes, Mother," she answers. "Saffire's sister, Flashfire, is helping me prepare it!"

Starfire and her mother hurry over to the little kitchen.

"Now, who is to be your master of ceremonies?" their father asks.
