Flashfire's Tears

"What?!" she shouts. "Why?! I thought we were all going to travel together!"

"We were," you answer, "but with TS1 chasing after me and Blackfire, you're going to constantly be in danger, and--"

"I know that!" she interrupts. "But I don't care!" Her eyes are starting to tear up. "I finally get to meet you, my older brother, my ONLY brother, and now we have to separate again?! This'll be the last time I get to see you, and I don't want that!"

"But Flashfire," Blackfire says, calming you sister. "Your parents are alone. Saffire can't return, but you can! You need to go back, for them."

Flashfire's tears spill over, and she grabs up her things.

"FINE!" she shouts. "I will go back! At least mother and father want me around!!"

Before you can say anything, Flashfire takes off without looking back.

You sit down, and rest your head in your hands.

The ship starts its ascent and has left Competitus by the time you say anything.

"Flashfire hates me now..."

"No, she doesn't," Blackfire says. "She'll realize that you were right once she sees how happy your parents are to see her again."

"No," you say, "we gotta go get her and have her stay with us."

"Saffire, why are you switching on us?" Blackfire asks.

"You said it yourself earlier, Blackfire, TS1 will go after her, too, whether we're with her or not. In fact, it'll be easier for them to get her while she's alone!"

"But you said you didn't want her to get caught up in our criminal lives," Blackfire points out.

"Well, it was stupid of me to think that," you say. "She was in trouble the moment she joined our group, and now there's no going back!"

"Except on this decision," Blackfire adds.

You grumble at Blackfire's little remark, and Nuh turns the ship around, hurrying to catch up to your sister.
