Search for Spitfire, Pt. 4

You grab the bully by his metal shirt collar and lift him up.

*SLAM* You shove him into a tree
*SLAM* You shove him into another tree
*SLAM* You shove him into a THIRD tree

"Saffire!" Blackfire and Flashfire scream, the two of them rushing to you.

"NO!" you snap at them. "I am NOT stopping! He will PAY for what he did to Spitfire!"

"Trust me, I already have!" he growls. "You burned me! I have to live with the memory of a freak who went berserk over a stupid cripple!"

*BAM* You knee him in the sternum, knocking the air out of him. You keep a grip on his collar as he hacks and coughs.

"She didn't deserve to die!" you yell in his face. "She could have lived, so that she could've gotten stronger!"

"No she wouldn't have," he says. "She would've stayed fragile and weak, just as you have stayed blue! And if she had grown up, all she would end up doing is passing on her weak genetics to a new generation!" The prejudiced bully looks at Blackfire, then at you again.

"Why are you so concerned with Spitfire anyway? It seems you've moved on to the Exiled Freak Princess, Blackfire!"

*POW* You headbutt him in the nose with explosive speed, and blood starts pouring out. Then you toss him away, so that his blood doesn't get on you.

"The only freak here is you, Greasefire," Flashfire says. "Someone who hates another just for looking different, or for having a medical condition like Spitfire did, or is just a little from the 'norm'."

"Now, where. Is. Her marker?" you demand of him.

"We didn't give her one because the elders said not to! It was their decision!"
"Then show me where you did bury her!" you yell at him. "You may not have marked where, but I'm damn sure you buried her somewhere!"

"Over there!" he points to a tree off to the right. "We buried her there!"

As you and the girls walk over to the tree he designated, Greasefire flies off in fear.

The tree he pointed to is amazing. It is larger than the other trees around it, and there are far more leaves on it than the others, too.

You fall to your knees, and stare at the tree roots.

"Spitfire did like these trees," you remember. "But for them to bury her under one... it's as if she meant nothing more to them than fertilizer!" You grit your teeth, and burning tears of anger form. A hand touches your shoulder, and someone kneels beside you. It's Blackfire!

"Your father was right," she whispers. "You did find good in my bad heart..." Tears roll down her cheek. "Before I met you, I might've thought nothing of someone being treated so badly, but now..."

You kiss her, and hold her close. Flashfire walks over and also kneels with you.

"We could always make a marker for her," she says.

"Yeah," you agree. "That'd be a great idea."
