"Reincarnation, huh?" you say.
"Yes, that is how all things go!" Gogorio exclaims. "Even if you die, you are given another chance to be better than you were in a new life! Unless of course you have done horrible things."
"Well, I don't know about 'horrible'..." you mutter. You think for a moment. "Gogorio," you begin. "Why don't you eat with us. Even for Tamaranians like me and Blackfire, this beast is pretty big."
"Well, of course!" he shouts. "The least I can do for those who saved me!"
The three of you arrive at the Woburgins' campsite as sun begins to set. They are currently building a campfire.
"Here, boys," Blackfire says, "I'll light that for you." *ZAP ZAP* She shoots the fire with low-level eye beams, and a roaring fire is lit.
"Tamaranians, you say?" Gogorio mutters. "I always heard that Tamaranians had red hair and green eyes, but you two have blue and purple everything!"
"Yeah, but me and Blackfire are different."
"I see..." Gogorio sits down on a rock, and watches as the Woburgins and Blackfire create a giant rotisserie.
You sit on another rock, near Gogorio.
"Yeah, we were born a little different from the other Tamaranian children," you say. "Blackfire is the only one in her whole family that doesn't have red hair or green eyes. Same goes for me and my blue eyes and hair."
"So, you were unique?" Gogorio asks. "Treated as special children?"
"No," you grumble. "Well, I wasn't. Blackfire is the princess of our world, or was, so everyone was nice to her. The people who lived in my village thought of me as an oddity." You kick a pebble away.
"Wait..." Gogorio looks at you, then at Blackfire. "If she is royalty, then why is she with you, a commoner?"
You cringe at the question.
"Because even though she was treated so kindly, she knew that there were those who saw her as no different from me: strange. We are 'unnatural'."
"Oh..." Gogorio sits still for some time. Blackfire has successfully skewered the beast on a large stick, and set it up on the rotisserie.
"Don't worry yourself with our past," you tell him, "just worry about eating up and resting tonight so you can defeat another one of those things." You get up and join the others. The Woburgins are spinning the rotisserie, and Blackfire sits in a soft patch of grass. You sit by her as you wait for the meal to be cooked.
