"Blackfire," you say, "I think it is time we part ways with the Woburgins."
The Woburgins stop eating meat nuggets and look at you and Blackfire.
"What?" one asks.
"Why?" asks the other.
"We've palled around and had fun," you answer, "but Blackfire and I should go our own way. We are criminals after all, and police may find us and take you guys in with us."
The Woburgins look downtrodden, but Blackfire cheers them up.
"Don't worry, you two," she says. "We won't leave yet. We'll wait until after we've finished eating."The Woburgins cheer, and continue eating meat nuggets.
When the time comes, you and Blackfire pack up your things, and the Woburgins enter their ship without you two. They take off to who knows where, and you and Blackfire fly off in an opposite direction.
"Let's head home," you say.
"What?" Blackfire is confused. "Saffire, I'm not allowed, you're not allowed, neither of us are allowed--"
"That doesn't matter." You take her in your arms. "Only love matters, right?"
She looks into your eyes. She seems unsure.
"Yes," she finally says. "Love is all that matters. If you want to go see Tamaran, then we go."
You and Blackfire fly off north by northeast at full speed. It will still be a long time, maybe a day's time, before you arrive.
Half an hour of flying through space later, Blackfire speaks.
"Why do you want to go to Tamaran?"
You consider your words carefully.
"Spending time with you has made me miss our home. You remember our culture, our customs, but I don't. When the elders told me to leave Tamaran, I told myself to no longer care about Tamaranean things like prayers to X'Hal or symbolisms of things. I think I owe it to you and myself to at least try to get back that much."
For the next few hours, you and Blackfire fly side by side, not saying much.
