The next morning, you wake up, and hear everyone talking and eating in the den. You go out and see Blackfire, Onyx, Nuh, Foxy, and Flashfire all laughing at a story your father is telling about you as a baby.
You walk past the table and head to the door.
"Saffire," Flashfire calls. "Where are you going? Aren't you going to have something to eat first?"
"Don't worry, I'll eat when I get back. I'm just headed to the cemetary to find Spitfire's marker."
"Who's Spitfire?" Flashfire asks.
"An old friend of your brother," Blackfire explains. "She died young, and Saffire never got to see her grave."
Flashfire gets up and stands next to you.
"Then I will go to see it too!" she declares. "I want to meet Saffire's first love!"
Blackfire does a spit-take, and your eyes dart around the room.
"Who... who said Spitfire was...?"
"Mother and Father did," Flashfire answers before you finish the question. "They said you loved a girl, and it was her death that made you leave."
You take your sister by the hand and hurry out the door.
"Saffire, wait!" Blackfire calls. "We're coming to."
Blackfire and the other girls file out of your house, following you.
