"Are you sure you can't move?" you ask.
"Only my mouth and eyes are moving," she answers. "I can't do anything with my neck muscles, or arms and legs. Do you think one of the other leaves, or a jawbreaker, can fix this?"
"We'll have to see. Alright, I'm going to give you a jawbreaker, since the other gummies might jsut do the same."
You pull out the jawbreaker in your mouth, and stick it in hers.
"Eww, Saffire!" she complains. "Why couldn't you get me a new one?!"
"Because if a jawbreaker is the answer, used is as good as new!"
She sucks on the jawbreaker furiously.
"Is it working?!" you demand.
"Maybe," she says. "I'll see if I can move anything."
You look her up and down, and see that her feet are wiggling.
"Good, Blackfire! Keep sucking the candy! I think once you finish it, you'll be able to move everything again!"
She keeps sucking, and more things start wiggling again.
"KAKAKOOO!" the rainbow bird bellows.
"HAKAHOOO!" the gray bird hoots.
You can hear them fighting still, both birds flapping furiously. You turn to look. The birds are coming your way!!
You get on top of Blackfire as the two birds fly over head, still clawing and pecking at each other. Some feathers fall down on you, some gray and some raibow.
"Saffire," she says between sucking sounds, "it's ok, they're still flying."
You look up and see the two birds crash into the ground, then roll and separate.
"Are they hurt?" Blackfire says. "I still can't move my neck to look."
You look at the birds. The rainbow bird has so many colors on it, you can't tell if there is blood. However, the gray one definitely has blood, a reddish-brown liquid pouring out of some deep cuts.
"Grey sure looks beat up," you report. "Just keep sucking the jawbreaker, I'll get a closer look."
You get up and walk towards the birds.
"Saffire, wait!"
